Ashley Tod|Dartmoor Beekeeping
I've been using Ortur products now for a few years to create custom laser engraved bee hives, which I sell through my website shop, physical shop, and at events. I have found Ortur's engravers to be reliable, durable, and long-lasting, and have always had excellent build quality without exception.
That said the Ortur OLM3 LE has been a real eye-opener as it has many innovations that increase my overall productivity as a business, running much faster than previous models and requiring far fewer passes than any of it's predecessors. The 40 x 40cm engraving area is massive and has allowed me to fully realize my design ideas no matter the size of the scope. The overall design is outstanding and very ergonomically pleasing to use. The materials used are excellent, and a real upgrade on older models, the alloy body is sturdy and sleek. With a few pre-assembled parts to put together, assembly was a breeze.
Scie Side|Cabinet Maker
I am a cabinet maker working solo from France for 6 years now. I create wooden decorations, bowties, clocks, and a lot of little stuff from Wood (cutting boards, wooden knives, beer openers…)This machine helped me to be more creative, allowed me to engrave names on custom orders which are commonly asked.
The OLM3 LE had a lot of visitors during its display in my shop, who all left with personalized goodies by the minute via our new gear!
Chris Arnesen|LaHaie's Textile Projects
We have been researching laser engravers and cutters for some time now, and it was only after discovering the OLM3 LE that I got my first laser engraving machine!
For our business, we wanted to start out by customizing pre-made products – specifically requested were engraving our company logo on cedar wood blocks to include with our high school letterman jackets. Given the LF and SF options, we decided on the SF to make sure our engravings would be as sharp as possible and have the best penetration into the various objects.
The first item we engraved was some slate coasters purchased online with our company logo. LightBurn easily imported our SVG logo and we ran the engraving at 60 mm/s at 100% power. We didn’t do any prep on the slate and the engraving came out extremely well. And then we moved on to some cedar wood blocks also purchased online. We ran the cedar blocks at 50 mm/s at 60% power and got good surface engraving with minimal smoke – fortunately, cedar smells extremely good too. We ended up running 16 blocks and then used some isopropyl alcohol to clean the bottom of the laser and found very little buildup.
